Settings, and what each one costs you

Four-prong is the classic and lets the most light into the stone, which is why it looks brightest in a case. Bezel setting wraps each stone in metal: it is more secure, more contemporary, and more forgiving of a customer who does not take a bracelet off. Channel setting sits the stones between two rails and gives the smoothest line against the wrist.

Prong is the easiest sell and the most service. Bezel is the piece that comes back least. If you are supplying a market that wears jewelry hard, quote bezel even if the customer asked for prong, and let them see both at sampling.

Stones and matching

Round-cut natural diamonds, lab grown diamonds, cubic zirconia and natural coloured stones. Total carat weights from around one carat up, spread evenly along the line or graduated from a larger centre.

The difficulty in a tennis bracelet is never buying the stones, it is matching them. Forty stones sitting in a row will show any variation in colour or size that a ring would hide. That matching is most of the skilled labour in the piece, and it is why the same carat weight can carry very different prices. We select from parcels rather than buying stone by stone, which is what keeps a matched line affordable.

Lengths, clasps and safety

6.5, 7 and 7.5 inches cover most wrists, with 8 inches upward on request. Every bracelet we make carries a box clasp with a figure-eight safety catch or a double-tab underside catch. This is not optional on our side: a tennis bracelet with a single unsecured clasp will eventually be lost, and the customer will remember where they bought it.

Metals

925 sterling silver, 9k, 14k and 18k gold in yellow, white and rose, and platinum. Silver with rhodium plating is the usual entry point and holds up well, because the flexible links keep most of the plated surface off the skin.

What to send us

A sketch on paper is enough to start. So is a photograph of something similar with a note about what should be different. CAD files are better still, and a physical sample is best of all. We cost it, make one sample properly, and you decide from the piece in your hand rather than a rendering. Changes at sample stage are cheap; changes after production starts are not.

Minimums and lead time

There is no blanket minimum order quantity. It is set per project, once we know the metal, the method and the stones, because those three things decide whether a short run is sensible or wasteful. Gold and platinum can start small, because the material carries most of the cost. Silver wants more volume, since the setup is the same but the material is cheap.

From first enquiry to a box on your desk is usually six to ten weeks, of which three to five weeks is production. Most of the rest is sampling and your own decisions, which is the part you control. If you have a date you need stock by, say so in the first email and we will tell you honestly whether it is possible.
